FREE ENTRY - Dub Cymatics Live

Dub-Cymatics...creating conscious atmospheres that are enjoyable and uplifting, in both lyrical and musical content.

Brunswick Space Agency presents, for the first time in New Zealand, Dub Cymatics, fresh out of the Australasian melting pot and built upon utilising the potential of midi-synced live looping. Two independently touring loop musicians, Erinsphere (NZ) and Sid Berry (NSW) link pedals (think Tash Sultana and Ed Sheeran together) and then mix acoustic and electronic instruments (guitar, clarinet, keys, and trumpet) with drum samples and beatboxing to create everything from dubby reggae soundscapes to thumping live dance tracks.

Inspired to create conscious atmospheres that are enjoyable and uplifting, in both lyrical and musical content, the contrast between Sid’s funky, progressive style and Erin's signature vocal harmonies and leads build dynamic. Springing from a love of Reggae, Dub and Roots music, through Hip Hop, Dance and into Drum and Bass, their sound is fresh and evolving, inspired by Australasian influences Shapeshifter, Salmonella Dub, Blue King Brown and The Upbeats, to name a few.

With Melbourne based producer and DJ Kayboku (www.kayboku.com), and other feature artists onboard for what’s shaping up to be the biggest summer tour of New Zealand in 2018, these guys are already going places. There’s a brand new EP in the pipeline, and 2018 will also see the duo hit the northern hemisphere. Shows will be everything from soulful, passionate jams featuring solo sets from both artists, to all-night dance parties featuring cutting edge, original productions and visual effects.

Catch ‘em while you can, and let Dub Cymatics shape your soul and energise you with the best vibrations.

For tour dates, their brand new single 'Truth', and other details, check the website www.dubcymatics.com or Facebook Page www.facebook.com/dubcymatics

The Lyrical (Karl Smith) has become a rising star of the music scene in Brisbane. The Sunshine State capital has always been a hotbed for new talent in a variety of genres and the acoustic/hip-hop/reggae scene is now no exception to that tradition. Following in the footsteps of Ben Harper, Bob Marley, Michael Franti and Xavier Rudd, The Lyrical reflects the ingenuity and musical aptitude it takes to be a great artist. The "unique blend of beat-boxing meshed with folk guitar and socially conscious lyrics" (City News) is fast becoming one of those artists who demand your attention.
